Canadian singer and composer Loreena McKennitt, renowned for her innovative blend of Celtic and world music and a career spanning over 30 years with nearly 20 million albums sold worldwide, is set to captivate audiences in Turkey as part of her “The Mask and Mirror 30th Anniversary Tour.”
The concerts will take place on Sunday 30 June at the Izmir Kültürpark Open Air Theater, Monday 01 July at the Ankara Atılım University Atılım Stage, and Tuesday 02 July at the Harbiye Cemil Topuzlu Open Air Theater, all starting at 21:00. Organized by Pasion Turca, these performances will feature the most special songs of Loreena’s career, including tracks from her latest album “The Road Back Home,” which reflects a return to her musical roots.

Selling nearly 20 million albums worldwide with her “Eclectic Celtic” music in a career spanning more than 30 years, Canadian singer and composer Loreena McKennitt is preparing to bring the most special songs of her career to her audience with concerts in Izmir, Ankara and Istanbul with the Pasion Turca organization as part of “The Mask and Mirror 30th Anniversary Tour” following her brand new album “The Road Back Home”.
Loreena’s brand new album “The Road Back Home”, released in 2024, reflects a kind of musical return to the artist’s roots, the beginning of her career, her early days in the folk world and the characteristic community culture of the folk world. The 10-song album is available on CD and vinyl as well as digital platforms.
The artist, who appeals to a wide audience around the world with his best-selling albums and mystical songs not only in North and South America, but also in Europe and Australia, won great acclaim with his album “Lost Souls” in 2018 and met her fans in our country.
The album is a rich and eclectic presentation of contemporary ideas ranging from Indo-European tribes to Bedouins. In addition to her vocals, Loreena McKennitt played piano, keyboard, accordion and harp on the album, which is adorned with various instruments such as Nyckelharpa (Swedish folk instrument), oud, kanun, flamenco guitar and percussion.
In March 2019, Loreena released the album “Live At The Royal Albert Hall”, a performance at the Royal Albert Hall, one of the most iconic venues in the world. In December 2022, she released her album “Under A Winter’s Moon”, which was produced by Loreena, who also plays harp, keyboard and accordion.
Loreena McKennitt, who has achieved gold, platinum and multi-platinum sales on four continents, has received numerous awards throughout her fascinating career, including Canada’s most important music award Juno and the Billboard International Achievement Award, and has been nominated twice for Grammy awards.
In addition to her musical work, McKennitt has also earned the title of successful businesswoman in the music industry with her independent record label Quinlan Road, which she founded in 1985, where she handles everything from marketing to promotion.
