From the organizer:
Opening a genre-defying space in our musical landscape, Elder Island is coming to 100% Studio to give its listeners a magical evening on March 3 with shape-shifting songs where textures are as important as melodies and lyrics are full of cryptism!
Elder Island, which carefully selects and blends elements from various genres such as electronica, house, pop and neo-soul for its music, connects unfamiliar instruments with a poetic language on a backdrop of electronic elements and synth-dominated dance rhythms.
Composed of vocalist and cellist Katy Sargent, bassist and beat maestro Luke Thornton, and guitarist and synth virtuoso David Havard, Elder Island has easily found acceptance in Bristol’s arts scene thanks to its backgrounds in fine art, photography and graphic design. Bristol’s atmosphere, nature and inspiring art scene continue to provide the group with a variety of creative influences.
Strengthening their reputation with their unique live performances, the band refuses to rely on their pre-recordings during their concerts, offering their listeners a unique experience where they stir emotions and make the crowds dance thanks to their multi-layered rhythms. The collaborative nature of their work shines through in the live performances, where Katy, Dave and Luke’s charismatic friendship is reflected in their music as well as their on-stage interactions.
After the ‘sold-out’ concerts in Europe and the Americas in 2019, Elder Island, which has decided to go on a 2021 tour after the pandemic, will be on stage at Zorlu PSM 100% Studio on March 3, 2022 to present their unique and energetic live performances to their listeners in Turkey!
