On Thursday, 11 June, Tekfen Philharmonic Orchestra performs with pianist Behzod Abduraimov at Atatürk Cultural Center. as the opening concert of the 54th Istanbul Music Festival. Conducted by Aziz Shokhakimov, the program focuses on Russian classical repertoire, featuring works by Sergei Rachmaninoff and Igor Stravinsky. Tickets are available via Passo.

Founded over three decades ago, the Tekfen Philharmonic Orchestra is recognized as one of Türkiye’s leading international orchestras. Known for its cross-cultural artistic vision, the ensemble regularly collaborates with prominent conductors and soloists from around the world. Under the direction of Aziz Shokhakimov, the orchestra continues to present repertoire that bridges classical tradition with contemporary interpretation.

Pianist Behzod Abduraimov is widely acclaimed for his technical brilliance and expressive playing style. Rising to international fame after winning major piano competitions at a young age, he has performed with leading orchestras including the New York Philharmonic and Vienna Symphony Orchestra.

The concert program pairs Rachmaninoff’s Piano Concerto No. 2 with Stravinsky’s Firebird Suite, bringing together romantic intensity and modern orchestral color in a performance that opens the festival with a strong classical statement.
