Yabangee is seeking enthusiastic and motivated volunteer interns to join our dynamic team. If you’re a student looking to immerse yourself in all things related to Istanbul, then these positions are perfect for you.
We currently have two available internship positions:
- Editorial & Communications Coordinator – If you’re passionate about editing, enjoy writing in English, and want to be part of an active publishing platform, this is a great opportunity to grow your skills and portfolio. You’ll help curate and produce content for our website, refine existing articles, and support our editorial team in maintaining a consistent, engaging voice across our publications. You’ll also assist in communications with partner organizations and help us stay on the pulse of what’s happening around the city’s arts, culture, and community scene. (Priority consideration for native Turkish speakers.)
- Social Media & Video Coordinator – Are you a social media enthusiast with a flair for creating engaging video content? Want to simply gain some experience under your belt with an established audience? This position awaits your creative touch, particularly on platforms like Instagram and TikTok. Dive into the world of short-form video content that aligns with our scope of introducing the many facets of Türkiye to our audience. Bring your ideas to life, build an online presence, and connect with our audience in innovative ways.
Positions are largely remote, but may involve the occasional in-person session. Applicants should be based in Istanbul.
Qualifications for Editorial & Communications Coordinator:
- Excellent fluency in written and spoken English
- Ideally a strong foundation of Turkish
- Proficient in word processing and internet skills
- Familiarity with various social networking platforms (TikTok, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc.)
- Passionate about Istanbul arts, culture, history, etc.
- Daily access to a computer
- Organized and reliable
- Available to occassionally meet at our office space in Şişli (once every week or two)
- 18+ years of age
Qualifications for Social Media & Video Coordinator:
- Mobile device with a quality camera
- Genuine passion for social media and video content creation
- Proficient in video content creation and editing for TikTok and Instagram
- Excellent fluency in written and spoken English
- Strong understanding of social media trends and platform algorithms
- 18+ years of age
All internships are for a roughly six month period.
