Zorlu PSM will host arabesque musician Ümit Besen on Tuesday 18 October as part of the Vestel #gururlayerli concert series. Set to start at 21:00, tickets are priced from 55 TL to 75 TL and available via their ticket page.

The discography of Ümit Besen started in 1980 with the album titled Şikayetim Var, which sold 10 times what is needed for a golden record, and has prospered with a total of 32 albums which contain many classic songs. The musician became a phenomenon for Turkish music in the 80’s and has carried on his romantic style during the years, releasing his latest album Başka this year. Ümit Besen was successful not only in his music career, but also in the 13 films he acted in. His love in music started with the melodica he started playing at a young age.
Starting to play the keyboard in high school, Besen formed the Tayfunlar Orchestra. After his military service, he began appearing in clubs in Adana and made a huge impact with his performances. With the help of the famous footballer Tanju Çolak, who watched him perform, Ümit Besen began taking the stage in the clubs of Istanbul. After the success of these performances, he released his first record with Selami Şahin and Ahmet Selçuk in 1980.
Lately having made an impression with his competency on instruments other than piano and masterfully covered rock songs playing drums and electric guitar, Ümit Besen now meets the audiences with an “alternative” performance, “Başka”.
Ümit Besen stands out with his utterly distinctive, alternative and masterful interpretations on his much anticipated album “Başka” that was released in June, 23th presenting beloved rock songs by Teoman, Mirkelam, Emre Aydın, Manga, Yüksek Sadakat, Pinhani, Grup Seksendört Leyla The Band.
