Zorlu PSM will host the oyun atölyesi play “Pencere” on Monday 17 October. Set to start at 20:30 on the drama stage, tickets are priced at 60 TL (40 TL for students) and available via the ticket page.
From the organizer:
The play, which has the original title Skylight and is written by two time Academy Award nominee David Hare (The Hours in 2002 and The Reader in 2008), is about Tom and Kyra, two individuals with different world views who meet after years to look back on their life and relationship. Having premiered in 1995 in Cottesloe Theater with a version that was directed by Richard Eyre, the play brought Tony Award nominations for Hare and Eyre, as well as Michael Gambon and Lia Williams, the two lead actors. After winning the prestigious Laurence Olivier Award for Best Play of the Year in 1996, Skylight was staged in two different productions which casted Bill Nighy as Tom. The latest production, directed by Stephen Daldry and staged in the Wyndham’s Theater in 2014, featured Carey Mulligan as Kyra. This version of the play was nominated for 7 Tony Awards, including Best Revival of a Play.
The play, which premiered on April 7 in oyun atölyesi, features Haluk Bilginer as Tom, Esra Bezen Bilgin as Kyra, and Kürşat Demir as Edward, Tom’s son. Pencere is directed by Birkan Uz, with stage design by Gamze Kuş, music by Çağrı Beklen and light design by Kemal Yiğitcan.
