Galeri Selvin will host the second solo exhibition of Deniz Acerol “Ekolojik Pastane” from Wednesday, 9 May until Sunday, 3 June. This breakthrough artist has taken the artworld by storm since graduating from Mimar Sinan Fine Art University, ranking third of her class and thereafter winning Sakıp Sabancı Art Prize. Don’t miss her second exhibition in which she shares her private inner world with the public.
From the organizer:
At dawn, a friendly frog-lord commands a pack of velociraptors as they commence raiding a fish market. A rhino rushes in to claim a seat in the subway. The forlorn misery of dragging impossibly large luggage, as suffered by a migrant family of lemurs, is palpable. Witness the equinox rite of the bear and the tiger who have erected a T-Rex scarecrow to head off the sinister menace closing in from the forest! And the common experiential language of many other zoomorphic creatures from strange places and times — truly a phantasmagorical ecology!
An ecology of anthropomorphic experience — aggregated, seasoned, mixed, and baked to achieve the visual equivalent of human gustatory legibility — a painting patisserie, if you will.
