From the organizer
“Radiohead would sound like this if they played jazz,” said worldwide famous French trumpet player Erik Truffaz and he is not wrong at all… While İlhan Erşahin proceeds with nublu, his New York club and nublu records, his highly acclaimed project ILHAN ERSAHIN’S ISTANBUL SESSIONS is getting prepared for an epic comeback with their fourth studio album “Solar Plexus”. Their debut album released in 2010, Ilhan Ersahin’s Istanbul Sessions feat. Erik Truffaz succeeded in entering European music charts. Their second album “Night Rider” offered a more mature sound, presenting the harmony between east and west again. Their third studio project “Istanbul Underground” was the mightiest sound they developed, and offered a ride across İstanbul’s dark and dynamic soul, swinging between jazz, rock and disco uniquely. İlhan Erşahin’s free-form jazz riffs are accompanied by one of Turkey’s brightest bassists Alp Ersönmez, Turgut Alp Bekoğlu on drums and İzzet Kızıl on percussion.
