We are happy to announce that Norwegian singer-songwriter, record producer, musician, and novelist Jenny Hval will be performing once again at Babylon on Wednesday night, 8 February. Doors are set to open at 20:30, and the performance will start at 21:30. Tickets are on sale via Biletix and Mobilet.

Jenny Hval translates her passionate viewpoint questioning topics such as art, feminism and sexuality. Her unconventional musical creations are born out of her sound in which she blends folk, jazz, spoken word and electronic music genres with her deep vocals, as well as her impressive and provocative lyrical writing. Starting her solo work with her debut album “Viscera” in 2011, Jenny Hval impressed the audiences even more with her album entitled “Innocence is Kinky” released two years later. Evolving from atmospheric and dreamy sounds to styles in which she blends noise and indie rock, the musician was inspired by the 60’s Norwegian jazz vocals for her 2015 album “Apocalypse, Girl” released under Sacred Bones. Creating her following albums under the strong influence of jazz, Jenny Hval also added instrumental and electronic elements to her music. Her 2016 album “Blood Bitch” was shaped by the inspirations from the 70’s horror and thriller movies, Hval’s past tour experiences and the gothic and metal scenes of her home, Norway. She shared her album “The Practice of Love” in 2019 following “Blood Bitch”, which got positive reviews from listeners and critics. Having many collaborations and creating different projects with other artists, the musician’s experimental music project Lost Girls with Håvard Volden released their debut album “Menneskekollektivet” in 2021. Her latest album “Classic Objects” released in 2022 under the label 4AD represents Jenny Hval’s pop sensibilities. The isolation brought by the pandemic tells her plain stories about life that she wrote by focusing only on herself with the concept of “only me”. The album reflects a map comprising places coming from Hval’s past and yearnings, as well as imaginary locations that dreams, hallucinations, death and art can bring her in the future.
