Bova Sahne will host Zeytin, reggae-rock band on Saturday, 24th of February. The concert begins at 23:00 and the entrance is 10TL.

Zeytin is a Reggae/Rock band from Istanbul, Turkey that was formed in 2014. The band’s original songs are in both Turkish and English, and apart from playing in numerous venues in Turkey, Zeytin has also performed internationally, such as at Seaspash/Goulash Dİsko Festival in Croatia, and also in Cyprus. Most memorable concerts include the reggae festival in Istanbul where Mykal Rose (Black Uhuru) from Jamaica performed and the Çeşme Reggae Festival, which was the first Reggae Festival organised a national scale in Turkey, and recently the UNHCR event held for refugee children on World Refugee Day. In 2016, the band was awarded first prize in the 20th Roxy Müzik Günleri, the most prestigious music contest in Turkey.
The band has released their song “Nerdeyim?” as a music video in 2015 and also their song “Sabır” in 2016 via the internet. These songs have been played on radio stations such as Rock FM, Radyo ODTÜ, Radyo Zeplin, Flow Radio. Zeytin’s first appearance on Spotify was after “Sabır” made it’s way to the soundtrack of “Rosso Istanbul” of Ferzan Özpetek, the famous director’s latest movie.
In the same year, Zeytin appeared on Karnaval Radyo’s YouTube channel “B!P” with live performances of “Kim Bilir”, “İsyan” and “Fight For Yourself”. “Kim Bilir” and “İsyan” both made the top 10 list of B!P’s best performances of 2016.
Online magazines such as “Reggae HR” and “Soundreport” have mentionned Zeytin’s positive energy, impressive sound and performances that captivate the audience. Some have labeled the group’s music as Progressive Reggae due to Zeytin’s blend of Reggae with Rock and oriental melodies and other various genres of music.
At the end of 2016, the band started a crowdfunding campaign to release it’s first album. It was thanks to these contributions that Zeytin could independently work with Sinan Sakızlı in Hayyam Studios for the recordings, Emir Yeşil for the mixing, and Steve Corrao from Sage Audio for the mastering. The Album ‘Merhaba Ben İnsan’ (Hello, This is Human) was released on all digital media platforms via Tunecore in July 2017.
