From the organizer
As unique as can be, one of the most interesting bands of our time, Empyrium will be visiting Istanbul for two performances in a row at Turkcell Platinum Stage on September 7th and 8th.
Empyrium was founded in 1994 by Markus Stock a.k.a. Ulf Theodor Schwadorf and Andreas Bach in Germany. The band created their own unique sound with combining folk and doom metal, lately their music also branded as neofolk and dark folk. Apart from their unique musical influences, their strong melancholic lyrics also gave them a distinct style.
Empyrium’s musical journey started in 1996 with the release of their first album “A Wintersunset…”, followed by Songs of Moors and Misty Fields in 1997, Where at Night the Wood Grouse Plays in 1999, Wheiland in 2002 and after a twelwe year break they continued their saga with their fifth album The Turn of the Tides which hit the shelves in 2014.
Nature itself is the source of Empyrium’s musical influence. They combine it with their unique dark folk sound and the result is something you don’t experience often thesedays. All of their records are critically hailed as masterpieces and their fascinating live performances do nothing but build up the already existing magical atmosphere around them.
