Analog Kültür continue their impressive run of featuring local and international performers – this time with the sounds of biblo, Nick Mazzarella & Tomeka Reid, and Murcof on Sunday 18 March. Taking place at the particularly unique venue of Crimean Memorial Church, the fun is set to start at 17:00. Tickets range from 55 to 75 TL and were available via Bugece, but are currently sold out. A limited number of tickets will be available at the door from 17:00 to 18:00, so if you’re keen then get there early.
Murcof
Born in Mexico, raised in California, and having migrated to Spain, the minimalist, sample-laden electronic sounds of Fernando Corona are no less diverse than his background. From the complex to the abstract, Murcof’s sounds are distinctly his own, regularly producing melodic and traditionally-structured tracks, while incorporated orchestral breadth and glitchy percussion.
Nick Mazzarella (saxophone) + Tomeka Reid (cello)
Nick has remained a steadfast icon of Chicago’s music scene since the early 2000s, balancing preconceived jazz creations with his talent at improvisation. As a composer and a bandleader, he’s blazed paths with his quintet and trio performances, while also happy to lend his collaborative support behind other creative musicians. The versatile cellist Tomeka Reid will join him on the night, bringing her own talents of composition and musicianship to the fray. Also from Chicago, her musical stylings take her across the spectrum, from the structured to the entirely experimental. The duo is destined to impress.
biblo
Representing the Istanbul music scene in style, biblo brings her nocturnal electronic sounds to the fold as the evening’s opening performance. A graduate of Red Bull Music Academy, biblo’s talents feature distinct samples and ambient soundscapes guaranteed to impress.
