Label Project, with support from Future Generation 93.8 and Robin Music, returns with another exciting concert featuring intentional talents in Giolì & Assia (Live), performing at Klein Phönix Park on Saturday 09 July. The Italian duo come fully equipped with multi-instrumental talents which lend itself strongly to the success of their production and songwriting, as well as their DJing. Tickets are currently available on GM Ticket, but likely to sell out soon, so act fast if interested.
The creative partnership largely sees Giolì playing the piano, cello, drums, guitar, and handpan, with Assia on guitar and lead vocals. Boasting an impressive background in the industry, the duo formed in 2016 and shortly after founded their own record label Diesis Records. They’ve since conquered quite a bit of territory in the short time they’ve been on the music scene.
From their first single “Stay Closer” in 2017, their atmospheric, lingering brand of electronic music has maintained consistency and evolved over the years. Two album drops in “Night Experience” and “Istantanee” are comprehensive, full-bodied approaches to their sound and leave quite an impression. Aside from their own productions, they’ve also put together quite a few covers including Nancy Sinatra’s “These Boots Are Made for Walking”, Peggy Lee’s “Fever”, and Radiohead’s “Creep”.
“Inside Your Head”, “Blame on Me”, “Fire Hell and Holy Water”, and “Habibi” are all tracks worth a listen, and feel carefully crafted as dancefloor favorites. Haunting soundscapes dominate their discography and the accompaniment of Assia’s vocals feel a perfect fit.
The branding of their #DiesisLive is genuinely a sight to behold, as they travel the world in search of scenic, lush visual destinations to demonstrate their live music talents. If in any doubt as to what a live music performance might be like, simply venture to one of their Youtube videos to find them in stunning locations. Volcanoes and glaciers are among the memorable backdrops of the series, with impressive production quality that offer a personal look as to what goes into their live performance. Fans in Istanbul are destined to be treated to much of the same passion in what looks like what of the gems of this summer’s line-up.
