Saturday, 14 April, 13.00 – 16.00
Language: Predominantly English with Turkish translation on-site
Led by Maggie Bencivenga & Cevza Elmasdağ

This workshop focuses on 3 essential tools to optimize meditation: Mudras, Mantras and Malas.

Mudras are gentle hand placements used in meditation. We will explore the origin and benefits of Mudras, as well as try a few simple ones together that can later be used at home.

Mantras are words, sounds, or phrases repeated to assist concentration in meditation. We will discuss the benefits of Mantras when paired with Mudras or Malas to optimize meditation. We will try a few simple ones together that can later be used at home.

Malas assist in counting the repetitions of Mantra. We will each create a Wrist Mala with 27 Howlite stones, a Sumeru stone and a cotton tassel. This stone is primary use is for calming the mind and blends nicely with this entry-level education of this type of meditation. This art form does not require skill, only intention and attempt.
