Where to Live

The closest dorm to the main campus is the “Bilgi Kız Öğrenci Yurdu” (female only). Tophane dormitory is a good option for males who go to both the main campus and the Eminönü campus.

Dormitories are notoriously expensive costing something around 900 Turkish Lira sometimes so those who prefer to rent can find shared apartments costing less around Taksim, Osmanbey and Mecidiyeköy areas.

Neighborhoods and Campuses

The main campus is situated in Sütlüce, a pristine area close to Miniatürk and Halıcıoğlu. You will rarely see people walking around in this area. The view from the campus is great since it’s engulfed by a lot of parks.

The Post Graduate campus is in Eminönü, very close to the craziness of the Eminönü roads and the bazaars. But no need to be alarmed, because once you are on campus, all the craze that comes with Eminönü is surprisingly muted. The view of the Bosphorus from the Eminönü campus is beautiful.

The third campus is in Küçükyalı, an area on the Asian side of Istanbul. It is home to the vocational school and faculties of engineering.

Food

The Main Campus houses an Es Cafe, harvest and a Kahve Dünyası. These are all excellent, but it is the Es Cafe that reels in most of the students because of its array of meals and students friendly prices.

There are a couple of izgara restaurants close by, but only a handful of students opt to eat there as the meals offered in school are already of high quality as it is.

Campus Culture

Most Students usually spend their time in the balconies of the on-campus restaurants smoking or playing games inside the Es Cafe. Students generally socialize within the confines of their cliques.

Extra-Curricular Activities

The university has a diverse selection of student club options, with the cinema and communication clubs being particularly popular.

Transportation

The university provides shuttle buses from Sütlüce to Halıcıoğlu and to Kabataş. There are also easily accessible buses and dolmuş from the campus to almost all the central areas. The dolmuş is a great alternative especially on days when buses are over-crowded. Students only pay 1 TL.

Services on Campus

The main campus has a very resourceful library. It gets crowded during finals mainly because students from other campuses prefer to exploit its resourcefulness, too. There is a convenient print and stationery shop on campus with reasonable prices.
