Moovment Festival: A Breakdown of This Year’s Performers

This year’s Moovment Festival is fast approaching, taking place on Saturday 19 and Sunday 20 August at KüçükÇiftlik Park. With a motto of “Get Your Move On!”, there’s much to enjoy at this year’s celebrations. A loaded program this year also means there’s plenty of performers. Saturday is host to KSHMR, BlasterJaxx, Timmy Trumpet, Ummet Ozcan, Sebjak, 2 Faced Funks, and Volac. Sunday follows in an equally strong fashion with Bass Modulators, Brennan Heart, Coone, Wasted Penguinz, Zatox, and MC Villain. Two-day tickets are set at 170 TL for standard entry or 275 TL for Deluxe Area access, all available for purchase via Biletix.

If you’re unaware of who some of these names are, we’ve done a quick breakdown on a few of the most notable:

KSHMR: Hailing from Berkeley, California this American DJ and producer has been making it into a number of publications’ “best of” year-end lists for his high-energy performances. Pushing his new label “Dharma Worldwide”, the last year has seen him collaborate with a number of world-renowned talents, including sets featuring musician accompaniment. You can catch his full Tomorrowland 2017 set below.

Bass Modulators: This duo composed of Roland Evers and Rick Buijtenhek has been making their mark for over a decade and have continued to grow in stature over the years. Their style is admittedly quite aggressive, incorporating plenty of trance elements that are both hard and uplifting simultaneously. Sun Goes Down, Oxygen, Leave the World, and plenty of remixes are some of the highlights of this Netherlands natives catalog.

BlasterJaxx: The DJ/Producer duo has come a long way since kicking off in 2010. Their blend primarily consists of electronic house with some varying elements that range from Latin to Middle Eastern. Having collaborated with a plethora of titans of the industry such as Tiësto, Steve Aoki, and Diplo, they’ve conquered a lot of territory in a relatively short time. You can catch their music video for Temple below.

Timmy Trumpet: We were absolutely delighted to learn that this Australian house DJ is true to his name, as he does in fact incorporate a Trumpet into a significant part of his performance. While he’s definitely an out and out electronic dance performer, there are elements of jazz to be found in his mixes. His collaborations with Dizzee Rascal, Fatboy Slim, Armin Van Buuren, and plenty of others are testament to his wide reach. You can catch his full Tomorrowland 2017 performance below.

Brennan Heart: Another of Holland’s top DJ talents and one of the longest-serving on the billing, Brennan Hart’s hardstyle approach to DJing is about as high energy as it gets. An emphatic advocate of the genre, he hosts a weekly radio show entitled WE R Hardstyle, as well as runs his own label pushing the style forward at every opportunity. His full performance from Tomorrowland 2017 is below.

If it’s not clear by now, for those who have been dreaming of attending the larger European festivals such as Tomorrowland, this is in many ways, a dose of the magic in Istanbul. Expect this festival to gain traction and grow in years to come.
