TMUTB Presents English Stand-Up Comedy Nights Starring Phil Nichol

Take Me Up the Bosphorus: English Stand-Up Comedy Nights in Istanbul (TMUTB) will host English stand-up comedy nights headlined by Canadian comedian Phil Nichol on Monday 28, Tuesday 29 and Wednesday 30 November. The hilarious Aslı Akbay will serve as host through all the fun.

Monday’s gig takes place at Hard Rock Cafe Istanbul, kicking off at 21:30 with free entry.

Tuesday’s event takes place at Demir Demirgil Theatre on Boğaziçi University South Campus. Doors open at 20:00, with the fun starting at 20:30. Tickets are priced at 15 TL for Boğaziçi University students, 20 TL for students from other institutions and 25 TL for non-students. Tickets will be on sale on campus before the gig and at the door for Boğaziçi students only. Non-Boğaziçi students can arrange tickets before Tuesday 22 November via bukomik@boun.edu.tr.

Wednesday’s final performance takes place at kargART. Set to start at 21:00, entry is set at 30 TL (25 TL for students). Attendees should note that the event is 18+. The venue has a capacity of 45 people and there is no cloakroom.

Phil Nichol, a barnstorming madcap Canadian stand-up comedian is a truly unique performer. An award winning comedian, acclaimed actor, producer, presenter, writer and musician, there is no end to his talent.

Phil is an energetic and exciting performer with an unquenchable thirst to break boundaries and innovate with his work.

His skill as an improviser whether it be musical, comedy or straight is unparalleled.

With a surreal edge to some of his mischievous rantings Nichol always brings something new to the stage, his keen sense of fun and eye for the shocking and absurd has cemented his position as one of the best comedians around today.

This year Phil performed his 20th solo show at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. It is his first ever gig in Istanbul. This is a show not to be missed!
