Friday:

Nights by You Presents: Kwabs @ Babylon Bomonti (+ Orkun Bozdemir Midnight Session) – Start your weekend with some experimental rhythms.

Jakuzi @ Salon IKSV – A night of darkwave, synthpop.

Böcek Live Opening Party – Check out some great local music in Bir Şeyler Eksik, Zeytin and Ozan Tunç.

An Evening of Improv: The Clap and Ephemerata at YOTA – They’ve advised that you should come enjoy some improve, lest an “angry dapper monkey” confront you. Seems like solid advice to us.

Networking Party Series (#4) at Saigon – Start the evening with a variety of games focused on helping you network, then dance in the late night with some DJ talent.

Saturday:

Jaakko Eino Kalevi @ Salon IKSV – A great chance to check out Finnish synth-pop and cross it off your bucket list.

Oldies but Goldies @ Babylon Bomonti – You never know what old songs are gonna play, but you can be sure that it’s going to be great. We’re partial to all the ABBA.

Season Opener @ Art On – Old exhibitions near their conclusions and new ones kick off!

Athena @ Dorock XL – One of Turkey’s most popular bands takes the stage.

Burn presents: Kaiserdisco @ garajistanbul – Hamburg’s DJ duo Kaiserdisco will most likely keep you on the dance floor all night long.

Phil Weeks at Kiki – Another internationally famous DJ performs in Istanbul this weekend, with free entry. Get there early to claim your spot.

Saturday Night Get Together and Party – A staple of Saturdays thanks to Istanbul International Saturday Meetings, locals and internationals join forces to make friends and have a fun night out.

Bosphoroots at Kırmızı Tazı – A night of roots reggae from a local band with a great name.

Şebnem Ferah at Cemil Topuzlu Open-Air Theater – A veteran of the Turkish music scene returns for an Istanbul performance.

Sunday:

Onar Istanbul Opening Night: A New Season for Women – Register and learn more about Onar (Turkish NGO) and their work in women’s empowerment. The evening includes speakers, presentations, networking and more.

Color Sky 5k Run (Caddebostan) – Run, run, run and get a bit of color!

Beşiktaş vs Medipol Başakşehir Friendly Match – Check out the new Vodaphone Arena and support the beautiful game. Kickoff is at 16:00.

Köşe Bucak Kadıköy: Walk Around the Corner – Enjoy Kadıköy’s thriving art scene with this walking tour.

Music Corner: Country for Syria at kargART – Syrian, American, Brit, Spaniard, Czech, and Turkish musicians share some country classics with an Arabic twist.

“To the Extent” from Murat Adash – An artistic performance investigating “relations and frictions between corporeality and spatiality”.

This Weekend (Friday through Sunday):

Istanbul Coffee Festival – Returning once again this year to ensure you’re at your maximum caffeinated level this weekend.

Cirque Du Soleil – Varekai @ Ülker Sports Arena – Last chance to see this intriguing traveling show.

Open Studio Days – Access art spaces all around the city, many of which aren’t usually open to the public, while taking in all kinds of art. Free of charge as well!

Istanbul Air Show – Aviation enthusiasts won’t want to miss out.

“Corner Pro” @ DEPO – Part of A Corner in the World, this is an impressive gathering to discuss issues that artists in the region have to face.

Oktoberfest Istanbul at the Populist – Have a few pints in style with live music throughout the weekend.

Critical Urban Practice Workshops (Saturday and Sunday) – A collective from a variety of fields work-shopping issues related to the city.

Ongoing:

“Limited” @ The Photographers’ Gallery – The gallery’s first exhibition on editions.

A Corner in the World Performing Arts Festival – An extremely loaded program with something for everyone. It ends next week, so do squeeze it in.

“One and the Many” @ SALT Galata – This research-based exhibition brings some serious nostalgia.

Staged @ Zorlu PSM – Indulge in highlights from Zorlu’s full 2015 season.

“Blurry but Clear” @ Ariel Sanat – A multi-artist exhibition featuring artists Ahmet Elhan, Ayşe Erkmen and Karin Sander.

“Causa sui” @ PiArtworks Istanbul – Yuşa Yalçıntaş’s solo exhibition

“Fugitive Shadow” @ Elgiz Museum Terrace – Elgiz continues their series of impressive terrace exhibitions.
