The last couple of years have been a chaotic, enlightening and delightful mess for those of us at Yabangee. The site has grown from a small multi-author blog to a team of over 70 volunteer contributors and despite what you may think, we have yet to get into our groove. We’re constantly learning from both our successes and failures, our Turkish is (slowly) improving, we’ve connected with so many incredible locals and expats alike and the city seems to constantly evolve in the most fascinating of ways.
Now, we’d like to hear from you – our readers! We’d appreciate it immensely if you could take the time to fill out our survey (or even part of it) to give us a bit of feedback and insight. This will conjure up an impression of at least a small portion of the English-speaking community enamored with (or at least tied to) Istanbul. We also want to learn how to best focus our efforts. Should we post more job adverts? Is Istanbul survival (permits, arranging utilities, etc.) the way forward? What about interviewing more expats? Is it time to pour more resources into organizing a kick-ass book club or host a snazzy cocktail party? How about a dating app for Istanbul expats? Maybe we need to give up entirely, pack our bags and head home? Let us know!
