With the cooler weather slowly settling in, it is the perfect time to sit down with a cup of coffee and tuck into a sweet treat. While Istanbul offers up a variety of sweet options, you are often stuck choosing between something dense and honey-ed or a pudding of some kind. But if you find yourself craving something more cake-y with frosting, then the Istanbul Cupcake Factory is the perfect place for you.

Started by a mother and son duo, their recipes and flavor inspiration come from the years the family spent living in the United States. After moving back to Turkey, they decided to bring their love of the cupcake to the Istanbul dessert scene.

The Istanbul Cupcake Factory features pretty cupcakes with a delicately moist crumb. A sweet fluffy cloud of mouthwatering frosting is gently piped atop each cupcake. They sell their cupcakes in batches of six, so they are a good option for a birthday celebration or office party.

I had heard about this company a few years ago but never had the chance to try them out until recently. After sampling their cupcakes, I wish I had tried them earlier. They definitely hit the spot when that craving for a taste of home creeps up.

The menu has a variety of options that incorporates tastes from both sides of the Atlantic.  The flavor options include Pumpkin Pie, Oreo and “The Elvis” amongst more Turkish flavors like rose and pistachio. And if dark chocolate is your thing, the “Deep Dark” with make your knees quiver. But these are only a few of the choices from their large menu.

Check out the website for delivery options, but you can also pick up your order from their bakery in Etiler. They are very prompt and thorough in their email communication, which they do in English or Turkish.

So get your coffee ready and make your order today. You won’t be disappointed!
