The Chinese Year of the Horse

From the organizer:

A new concept has come to Istanbul. A new way of meeting people, enjoying good food and experiencing something unique.

Pop-up restaurants have taken other parts of the world by storm. They pop-up anywhere (in people’s homes, in empty shops, in disused garages). However, restrictions here prevent this happening anywhere other than a home.

Here’s how it works. You like the facebook page: pop-up restaurant Istanbul. Either you will receive updates or you need to check into the page to see what is going on. Once you have signed up for an event and paid accordingly you will receive the address and your booking is confirmed. On the night: you arrive hungry and with a bottle in hand. We only serve water with the meal so bring whatever you wish to drink (no corkage charge). You will find yourself in a relaxed dinner party atmosphere. You get to meet the other guests (no more than 14) to hang and chat before taking your seats at the dinner tables. You sit where you want, there are no seating rules.

Often the meal will come with a story as to its theme, food preparation, food history or just some shaggy dog story I’ve dreamed up.

Please check out the Pop-up dinner etiquette posting to help you feel at ease. The rest is about enjoying a good night out with new friends.

THE NEXT POP-UP DINNER WILL BE CHINESE NEW YEAR – The Year of the Horse.
